  Cindy Sun

  Senior Project Manager &
  Director of Voice Talent

  Cindy holds a Bachelors degree from the prestigious China Foreign Affairs University. Before coming to the United States, she worked for Caterpillar China in their Beijing office.

  Cindy develops and promotes new products and services, including a Voice Talent team of over 50 linguists providing a range of deliverables for radio, video, teleprompts and television.

  Cindy has a spicy sense of humor and joy for life, movies, good food and a compulsion for shoes.

  Amy Guest

  Senior Project Manager &
  Director of Field Testing

  Amy holds a Masters degree from Emerson College in Global Marketing, Communication and Advertising.

  As Transcend's expert in field-testing and focus groups, Amy designs instruments, conducts and monitors field tests and provides recommendations to clients based on consumer feedback. Amy's field test work includes health, legal, and elections information for the public and private sectors.

  Amy also manages Transcend's website clients by helping them reach their target audiences with user-friendly design, text and translations.

  Her passions: traveling, trying new things and walking her Wiemaraner, Daisy.

  Nicole Newman

  Graphic Designer sans pareil

  Nicole holds a Bachelors degree in Design from UC Davis. Her work experience includes graphics and web design, interior and exhibition design, and art direction.

  At Transcend, Nicole serves as a graphic designer for foreign language and plain language projects. In addition, Nicole continues the company's tradition of superior formatting services by creating original designs for client and internal collateral. Nicole is also our foreign language HTML and web accessibility and usability guru.

  As if that weren't enough, Nicole steps in to manage projects when more hands are needed.

  Her motto: Enjoys life!

  Susan Holmes

  Senior Plain Language Editor, Proofreader & Anthropologist

  Susan holds a Bachelors degree from UC Berkeley, and a Masters degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, both in Anthropology. She has worked as an Archaeologist, Anthropologist, and Teacher.

  As Transcend's senior proofreader, she makes sure adapted and translated text is complete, accurate, and consistent with the source text. She loves family, quilting, and using a red pen!

  Lindsay Madison

  Plain Language Editor &
  Proofreader

  Lindsay holds a Bachelors degree in Conservation and Resources Studies and a minor in Italian from UC Berkeley. She graduated with High Honors in 2009 and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. During her time at Berkeley, she served as an editor of the Berkeley Fiction Review and tutored local students in English.

  Lindsay divides her time at Transcend between proofing, Plain Language editing, and research. She is a Plain Language class instructor and has enjoyed applying her editing experience to a wide range of legal documents. Lindsay gets great satisfaction from eating fresh vegetables, wrestling with Italian grammar, playing classical flute, backpacking, and finding the right word.

  Stan Trinh

  Graphic Web Design Whiz Kid

  Stan holds a Bachelors degree from UC Davis in Design: Visual Communication and Asian American Studies: Films and Media. He helped create graphic materials such as buttons, posters, T-shirts, and websites for various Asian American student organizations on campus.

  Starting at Transcend in June 2010, Stan joined Nicole in the daily formatting fun. Since then he has taken on the task of reviving the company’s website with a strong flowing Yin and Yang energy.

  Stan enjoys contemplating creative things – from interior to graphic design and architecture. He is also a photography enthusiast and a happy owner of a Nikon D90.

  Amy Abramson

  Financial Manager

  Amy is Transcend’s business manager and financial wizard. She holds an MBA degree from the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis and a BA degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

  She loves being part of a team that constantly strives to provide the highest level of service to clients. “Transcend is a dynamic company and my peers at Transcend make coming to work a great experience. Working at Transcend has been the highlight of my career.”

  Amy is an active community volunteer and an advocate for music in the public schools. She is on the Board of Directors of the Davis Schools Orchestral Music Association, where she works to enhance the music opportunities of students in the Davis School District.

  Maria Mindlin

  Readability Expert, Plain Language Teacher, Certified Spanish & French Linguist

  Maria holds a graduate degree from UC Davis in Education (special interest in Language Acquisition and Reading Theory). She is a published author and teacher of Readability, Literacy and Plain Language. Maria works with departments, courts, and Legal Services Agencies of many states producing materials that are easy to read in English and excellent platforms for translation.

  Maria is also a court-certified Spanish linguist, Swiss-trained French linguist, Language Proficiency Evaluator, and “mum” to three wonderful young men: Gary, Rafael, and Gregor.
